1917 USA WW1 Trench Knife: Un-issued U.S. M1917 “Knuckle Duster” trench knife marked “U.S. LF&C 1917” on front of hand guard, leather scabbard marked ”Jewel 1918,” triangular blade is pristine, 98% of original deep bluing, no nicks, hand guard retains 98% bluing, wood handle is tight, no movement. Scabbard has olive green leather, with metal reinforced tip and metal throat section that attached to the M1918 dismounted cartridge belt.
This is the best one I have ever seen! Virtually factory new. Very rare in this condition.

The M1917 knife doesn’t get the recognition that the Mk 1 (mistakenly referred to as the M1918) does, but the M1917 actually saw action in WW1, whereas the US made Mk 1’s probably didn’t.
