SS M43 EM/NCO Overseas Cap Bevo Skull: On October 6TH 1934 in an attempt to distance themselves from the SA, the SS introduced a new metal cap skull to replace the previously used Prussian Danziger skull. The machine woven skull was introduced sometime in 1939 based on the 1934 metal skull. The cloth skull was designed for use on overseas and M43 style caps although it was occasionally used on visor caps.
Black rayon base from a 45
mm wide roll, machine embroidered bevo skull in lusterous grey
thread, scarce, mint unissued condition.
