Temporary SS Concentration Camp Guard Collar Tab: This collar tab was introduced late in the war (circa June-July 1944) for older reservists in their 40's and 50's or lightly wounded Army and Luftwaffe soldiers for temporary duty as concentration camp guards. Black wool base with machine embroidered insignia sewn and glued to a shellacked tan buckram stiffener, 55 x 40 mm, removed from a uniform, a thread is still attached, light wear.
