Schluthfeld Standarte
Strassburg Schluthfeld: Double sided, nice quality red cloth field 127 x 115 cm (45x50 inches), swastika disc 86 cm (34 inches), brown wool patch 20 x 16 cm with white chain stitched letters and 1 cm blue rayon tress border, perfect 5 cm aluminum bullion fringe; seven aluminum pole rings (inside diameter 4 cm) some marked inside RZM M3/40/39, others 41, top and bottom rings have recessed holes for pole fasteners, flag was actually used once or twice - bottom cloth loop has been sewn back on plus there is evidence of light wear inside the rings, overall very light wear, well taken care of, probably in the same condition it left Strassburg in late November 1944 as a war trophy taken by a soldier in the 44th Infantry Division. Schluthfeld was a major downtown stop on the A-Tram railway constructed in 1877 by the Straßburger Pferde-Eisenbahngesellschaft. A rare standarte from a territory the Germans were going to annex (reclaim) if they won the war.
