Here is a really nice Weimar
era sports badge! Heavy die struck nickel German Silver, 45 x
35 mm, heavy duty quality steel pin, extremely
detailed eagle, nice toning, very light wear.
DEUTSCHES TURNFEST 1928 in KÖLN - A Turnerbund meeting badge held in Cologne as the 14th Deutsches Turnfest, is a solid backed German silver badge, the exquisite detail an story this badge shows along with the 1923 badge above are believed to be in succession of each other as the earlier badge has the number "13" and this badge "14", the Turnfests were occurring every five years. Above the wreath at the centre are the letters "TD" overlaid with each other, just under three Crowns, and the steeples of a church between the wings of the eagle. Truly magnificent. A heavy badge measuring 35x45mm, pin-backed with an attachment plate.
