Boxed Silver German Cross - Deschler
Silver German Cross: Silvered and enameled tombac, heavy version, 68.99 gm, four rivets, marked with a large "1" (Deschler & Sohn) on the pin, medal is virtually mint condition, iridescent blue-grey patina on the wreath, the sunburst has 100% of it's black anodized finish, the black enamel swastika is blemish free - not a scratch on it, the reverse plate has four small counter-sunk rivets, the blemish free calico-like patina exhibits colors of blue, red, orange, and silver, no signs of ever having been worn.
DK Silver Box: The black leatherette paper covered wood box has a silver stripe; a strong, push button lock, a six steel tube hinge with zero wiggle, a tight case that opens and closes like the day it was made! The inside has a domed black flocked base with a recess to hold the wide pin and hug the back of the medal. The top is padded white satin. The top of the case has a deep scuff of about 1.0 square cm. If you can find a perfect box, one like that will cost you about $1500.
